Give free talks related to your product or service at ladies’ teas and other functions.

Make useful homemade gifts using what you already have in the house – the sort of gifts that the recipients would leave in a prominent spot in their homes, for example behind the toilet door, in the centre of the dining room table, on themselves (a bag or scarf) or on the dog (homemade dog jackets.) Display your details on these gifts. Give the gifts away to friends and acquaintances.

7.
Try and include your contacts details somewhere on the products you sell.

8.
Use your home printer to print out quite a few A6 size flyers and distribute these flyers yourself.

9.
Put up a simple sign on your front wall, front gate, or front door.

10.
Make yourself homemade items that you can carry with you or wear, like beach bags, shopping bags, waistcoats, hats and scarves. Embroider your details on these items, and make sure to wear or use the items often, especially when you know you’re going to be standing in a queue for a while.
