Christmas markets in South Africa start during November, sometimes even as early as late October. Who does their shopping at Christmas markets in South Africa? Shoppers looking for something different or handmade for themselves or as a Christmas gift, or even gift shop or home decor shop owners who wish to stock their shop up with some special items ahead of Christmas.

Others who enjoy shopping at Christmas markets in South Africa – or at any flea market, farmers market, or craft market during the year too – are those shoppers who simply enjoy the vibe felt at a flea market, farmers market or craft market, who enjoy browsing and shopping, meeting and chatting with friends – and with the friendly and sometimes a little odd 🙂 market traders, and buying and munching on the wonderful and tasty homemade goodies usually found for sale at every market.
Christmas Markets in East London in South Africa 2017
Bookmark this page as these (SEE THE CHRISTMAS MARKETS LIST FURTHER BELOW!) same Christmas markets in East London in South Africa – or near to East London in South Africa – may be on similar dates in 2018, 2019, 2020 etc too. Some of these Christmas markets are annual Christmas markets that have been held every year for the past few years.
We sell our own handcrafted items at markets in or near to East London. We have highlighted in green the Christmas markets in 2017 that we are planning to be selling at. We’re including a few photos of our own items in this blog post.
Please contact us if you’d like to order any of our items (or you can ask us if we can make something similar for you, according to your specifications), for yourself, as a gift, or for putting in your South African gift shop or South African home decor shop (increasing the price you paid and selling it at a profit). Also see our Services and Products page!
You may even want to resell our craft items at a South African Christmas market in your own town – our prices are good, and maybe you can sell our items for more than we do in East London, at other Christmas markets in South Africa perhaps in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. We can post our items to people in towns in South Africa outside of East London via Postnet to Postnet.
We are listing all markets in East London in South Africa (or not far from East London) that we so far know of from late October 2017 to end of December 2017, even if many of the earlier ones are not actual Christmas markets. Please also feel free to visit our contact page and contact us if you know of any markets in or near to East London (for late October through to end of December 2017) that we have missed out on adding, and we can add those to the list too.
If you want to contact the organizers of any of these markets, we recommend doing a search on Facebook – many of these markets or market venues have their own Facebook page or group.
TIP FOR THOSE VISITING MARKETS IN THE EAST LONDON AREA
The best and busiest most festive time to visit local markets is 9am to 1pm, but some markets go on to 2pm, 3pm or even later. Check the times on the organizer or event place’s Facebook pages.
Tip for organizers of Christmas markets in East London in 2017:
If you have not yet set your Christmas market date for 2017 (or remember this for future years if it’s too late now), try not to set the date on the same day that many other East London market organizers have their Christmas market day. Having no other Christmas market than yours to go to (or maybe only one other market rather than several other markets) would mean that your Christmas market would get more traders, and more people visiting it – making for happier traders, happier visitors, and a happier you! Try to find out well in advance when other Christmas markets are going to be on, and then try to avoid having your market on the same day. Try to choose days where there is no market or only one other.
THE CHRISTMAS MARKETS LIST!
