How to Make Money With a Free Website

Is it really possible to make money with a free website? Of course it is! If you already have a computer and Internet, you can make money with a free website. Although there does not need to be any money spent, some time and effort will certainly be required.

These are my recommended steps on how to make money with a free website:

1. Get a free Blogger blog (those sites that have their URL ending in .blogspot.com) so a Blogger blog of your own might have an address that looks something like youruniquehomebusinessname.blogspot.com (replace youruniquehomebusinessname with your very own unique home business name!)

2. Spend a day or two going through the dashboard of your Blogger blog, to get used to how to use Blogger. You can also use Google or another Search Engine to look for articles on how to use Blogger.

3. Once you have a fair idea of how to use Blogger, start writing and adding some content!

4. Describe what it is you do from home or in your spare time to earn income or extra income, and provide contact details. If you’re not yet doing anything from home, write a few articles about a particular topic that you already know a bit about (so that you don’t have to spend hours and hours doing research on the topic.) The topics you write articles about should be related to your Blogger blog’s name, and should include words or phrases related to that main topic. Try and make each article at least 300 words long, preferably as long as 700 or more words.

5. Once you have about 10 articles on your site, and your site is getting at least 50 visitors a day, apply for a Google Adsense publisher account.

6. Once your Google Adsense publisher account application is approved, add Adsense adverts to your site.

7. Continue working on your site as often as you can. It is very important to often work on your site if you wish to try making money from your site, or, once you are making money from your site, to try to increase those earnings.

Questions and Answers

Q)
How do the Adsense ads make me money?

A)
You earn small amounts when people who visit your site click the ads to visit those sites that the ads link to.

Q)
Can I click the ads myself, or ask my friends to click them?

A)
No! You do not want to have your Adsense publisher account shut down. When joining Adsense, and before using Adsense on your site, be sure to also carefully go through their terms and conditions and program policies.

Q)
I don’t want to use Adsense on my free Blogger site. How else can my free site make me money?

A)
The more traffic (visitors) your site gets, the more people it will be that will see the information you have supplied about your services or products (the more people it will be who may contact you to buy or order a product or service.) Also, you may be using affiliate program ads on your site if not Adsense. More people will see those ads when traffic to your site increases. You may also be linking to other online places where you are earning some extra income. Linking to those sites from your own site may help increase traffic to your pages on those sites, and, in turn, increase your income from those sites.

Q)
How do I get a lot of traffic to my Blogger site?

A)
Through working on and off your site.

Q)
What does working on and off my site mean?

A)
It can be quite involved working on and off your site, but a good start would be to frequently write and add many good quality and unique articles, and leave links on lots of other sites that lead back to your site.

Q)
What is the main disadvantage of publishing articles on your own site rather than on a writing site like HubPages?

A)
It may take you a long time to build up some followers and traffic with your own site, while writing sites like HubPages have ready-and-waiting communities of writers already. With a little bit of participation and activity on your part, being a member of an online writing site may help you get traffic to your articles on that writing site more quickly. It can also be lonely and depressing publishing articles on your own site if you are not also working really hard at increasing traffic to your site. It’s quite unusual to be lonely on an online writing site (unless you don’t involve yourself in the community of writers on an online writing site.)

Q)
What are the main advantages of trying to make money with your own site?

A)
You don’t have to share your ad revenue with anybody else, you can place your ads wherever you like, and you don’t have to follow any rules other than the rules of any ad program whose ads you are displaying on your site.

Q)
Is it a good idea to join and be active on a writing site as well as get my own blog?

A)
It’s not a bad idea at all. You can link the two places to each other, possibly increasing traffic to both, and possibly increasing your earnings too.

Q)
How much money can I make from a free website like Blogger? How long will it take?

A)
It’s up to you. Do understand that big earnings won’t come overnight. How much time do you have to spend working on your free site? How hard are you prepared to work? Are you prepared to keep working at it over a long period of time? The more time and effort you put in, the more you’ll get out.
