Steps on how to remove your HubPages articles
(or hubs, as articles on HubPages are also known)
You may have several reasons for wanting to remove your HubPages articles, but, bottom line, you don’t know how to.
Here are the steps to remove one of your articles from HubPages
1 )
If you haven’t already, make a folder on your computer in which you will store your articles that you remove from HubPages.
2 )
Log into your HubPages account
3 )
If you have not immediately logged into your “my account” page, then go to “my account” page – like this: hover your mouse cursor over your name at the top of your HubPages screen, and click the first link in the drop down – the one that says “my account.”
4 )
On your “my account” page, scroll down to the list of your published hubs (the list of titles of your published articles on HubPages) and click the title of the one you want to remove from HubPages
5 )
Click and drag your mouse over all of your article including the title, so that the entire area is highlighted, then right click, copy, open microsoft word or notepad, click on the empty page, right click, paste. Save the document to the folder you created in step one.
6 )
At this stage you can also do what I do when I remove my articles from HubPages, if you want to – at the top of the document you have just saved to your computer, type in the date you removed the article, and type in any stats that the article had on HubPages for eg the date you first published it on HubPages, and how many views it had (to find that info, go back to “my account” page and scroll down the list of titles of your published articles on HubPages) – for eg the information you type at the top of the document you have just saved to your computer may look something like this:
Removed from HubPages 3 July 2013
First published on HubPages 20 July 2010
Pageviews in those 35 and a half months: 54
Score at time of deletion: 59
Comments: 7, of which 3 were my own
then go back to the actual published article on HubPages for the next step.
7 )
At the top of your published article on HubPages look for three links: edit, stats, delete
click “delete”
a little window will pop up asking “Are you sure you want to delete this Hub?”
If you are sure you want to delete the hub, then choose “OK” from the two options of “OK” and “Cancel”
8 )
You will see a message at the top of your hub telling you that the hub has been deleted, and that you have 24 hours to change your mind, or else the hub will be completely removed from HubPages. Now, just above that message, you will see three links: Preview, Undelete, and Done Editing – click “Done Editing” – and you’re done removing your article from HubPages!
9 )
Follow the steps again for each of your articles you wish to remove from HubPages.
Note:
a)
If you are planning on re-publishing your HubPages articles on your own site or elsewhere online, wait at least 24 hours, preferably even a week or more – so that there will be no duplicate content issues.
b)
Be careful of joining online writing sites where you are unable to edit your published articles or are unable to remove them.
